Herbal Medicine

In the United States, unprocessed raw herbs are classified and regulated as foods by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Therefore, Chinese medicinal herbs like garlic, ginger, and cinnamon are freely available at any local grocery store without a prescription.  There are many additional herbs that I use which need to be ordered online from specialty suppliers.

As a Traditional Chinese Herbalist, I have the highest level of herbal education available in the US.  Using this knowledge, I prescribe herbs based on symptoms rather than disease, and it is always individualized for you.  Please know that one size fits all does not apply to TCM.  I may prescribe two different formulas to two patients who have the same complaint.  It is always advisable to consult with a trained herbalist so that your formula is tailored to you and your condition. This greatly increases the effectiveness and safety of herbal medicine.

Wooden Gate has an expanding herbal pharmacy to be able to bring you sustainably sourced, organically harvested, and ethically produced herbal products without having to wait for shipping.
